Will the heat deflector be hot when in use? - YES! Do not touch any part of the heat deflector when in use. It will be extremely hot. Children should always be under parental supervision when around the fire pit and heat deflector. Always treat heat deflector like an open flame.

When can the heat deflector be removed from the fire pit? | How do I cool it down? - Let your heat deflector cool naturally and completely before attempting to move any component of the setup. Using heat-resistant gloves, the heat deflector can be removed from the cooling fire pit and placed in a safe place to cool down separately.

How do you clean the heat deflector, and how often should you clean it? - With preventative care, cleaning sessions should be few and far between. We recommend polishing its surfaces with Barkeepers Friend and a dry cloth. Always ensure that it is completely dry before storing to prevent surface rust.
